WHAT IS A MODULAR?
We are often asked what the difference is between a sectional home and a modular home. We have identified the difference. H.U.D. Sectional homes are built under H.U.D. code. (Federal ) Modular homes are built to individual state codes. H.U.D. Sectional homes are titled and sales tax must be added to the selling price of the home. Modular homes are classified as real estate and do not have titles. The manufacturer pays the sales tax. Modular homes are set on YOUR BASEMENT OR FOUNDATION!! DID YOU KNOW...
Did you know that the "Sam Ramsey", one of the original owners of Ramsey Jones Homes sold mobile homes in Quincy, IL in the early 50's?
In the early 60's Sam joined with his son-in-law, Leon Jones, and went partnership with him to create Ramsey Jones Mobile Homes in it's present location. Shortly after, Sam Ramsey retired leaving the business with Leon Jones. In the 70's J.L. Jones, Leon's son helped out in the office. Then in the 90's he took over the company. Today, Heather, J.L.'s daughter, is working in the office. We are proud to say that Ramsey Jones Homes has 50 years of family experience in manufactured housing!
